Xeriscape design replaces water-intensive turf and ornamental plantings with drought-adapted natives and low-water alternatives that look great, require minimal maintenance, and support local pollinators and wildlife. Our designs balance ecological function with visual appeal, creating landscapes that are genuinely beautiful — not just dry and bare. Clients across Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor consistently see 50–75% reductions in outdoor water use after installation, making xeriscape one of the most cost-effective long-term investments for Northern Colorado landowners.

Our Process

01

Site Assessment & Goals

We walk the site with you to understand your vision, identify constraints (sun exposure, soil type, irrigation availability), and define success criteria.

02

Design Development

We produce a planting plan, grading plan if needed, and hardscape concept showing the full xeriscape design.

03

Plant Selection

We select plants native to or well-adapted for northern Colorado, sourced from regional nurseries with documented provenance.

04

Installation

Our crew handles all aspects of installation: grading, soil amendment, plant installation, mulching, and initial irrigation adjustment.

05

Establishment Care

We provide watering guidance and a 30-day establishment check to ensure all plantings are healthy and any adjustments are made.

Common Questions

No — a well-designed xeriscape is visually rich across all seasons. Native grasses provide winter interest, native perennials bloom spring through fall, and the overall palette is far more diverse than a monoculture lawn.

Most clients see a 50–75% reduction in outdoor water use. Colorado's Front Range typically receives 12–15 inches of precipitation annually — enough to sustain native plants with minimal supplemental irrigation.

During the first 1–2 years while plants establish, supplemental irrigation is important. After establishment, most xeriscape designs require little to no irrigation in typical precipitation years.
